Happy July 4th! Well, almost...

I know, there are still no pictures from Disney posted, so I hope this one will do... I do have good excuse this time! We were in a wreck on the way to church on Father's Day, so it kind of put a kink in my free time. Now that we are finally getting somewhere with the other person's insurance, we can breathe and know that things are being taken care of. Although it is a bummer that we'll be without our Tahoe for at least a month. Every so often, Aubrey asks where the truck is and Ashleigh worries about us 'getting crashed again'.
And before I forget, Ashleigh did absolutely wonderful at her ballet recital. There was point where the girls in her group had a memory lapse in the middle of the dance, but they improvised to get to the end. I've got the dress rehearsal taped as well as the actual performance. Look for these to be posted soon.
Hopefully, I'll have time this weekend to get this site updated!

Disney & Back...

It's hard to believe that our Disney Vacation has already come and gone. We had a blast and wore ourselves out. I'm still working on organizing all of the photos, but if you can't wait until I get the time to post them here, go to our Shutterfly page.

Birthdays...

Oh look, it didn't take me a month to post again! OK, so by tomorrow it would have been a month... March was a good month. We planned two birthdays, but we always end up having more than two parties! Aubrey managed to show Ashleigh where Chuck had hidden her bicycle, so she got her present eartly. On Easter Sunday we had the whole Spurlock clan gather at MeMaw and PePaw's cabin for an Easter Egg Hunt and birthday cake. It was a long day with no naps, so by the time we got to opening presents, it was time to head home.

On Ashleigh's birthday I sent rice krispy treats and juice boxes to school and then we went out to eat that night with my parents. Then that Friday night, we had a Pajama Party with some friends from church and school. While the guest list included an equal number of girls and boys, we had four girls and one boy that night. Poor Zack didn't know what to do, so he hung out where the girls weren't!

Yesterday we gave Aubrey her presents and she went nuts when she saw her very own Little Einstein's Rocket.

Well, we've survived our 'birthday season' and now we are planning our Disney Vacation. We've already booked the flights and the resort for May, so now we're in planning and countdown mode. We're happy that Aunt Candy will be going with us! More later... ;)

Is it my birthday, yet?!?!

...that's what Ashleigh has been asking the past few days. It's grown more earnest with the celebration of a few of her cousins having birthdays - Jacob, David, Isaiah, Callie and Daniel. We have a big extended family here, so it can get pretty busy with birthdays!

February is over and in a way, I'm glad. On the 12th, Aubrey woke up with a fever and I shrugged it off as teething. That day at school, Ashleigh and her classmates got to enjoy 'P' foods - Popcorn, Pizza, Pudding, Peaches & Punch. I don't know about you, but that turns my stomach. And at about 6:30 that evening, Ashleigh's stomach agreed with me. The next day we found out Aubrey had a double eye infection plus a sinus infection, so for several days I got to deal with many ailments from the girls, only to have Chuck get a touch of both a few days later. Thankfully, after a week of junk, I was only run-down and needed a break.

Nothing else was really exciting except that Ashleigh and Chandler Woosley have decided that they are too young to be married. So, they need to wait until they are both five-years-old. Oh, I took Ashleigh with me to see Dr. Chuck and he relayed to Chandler that evening that Ashleigh was at his office that day. Chandler looked sternly at his dad and scolded him for not bringing her home! Ah...young love!

What's better than 20/20?!?!

Well, as you can tell, the surgery was a success and my vision is great. At my follow-up apointment my vision tested at 20/15. It's been hard not to rub my eyes due to the dryness, but hopefully when winter passes, so will that problem. Another bonus from the weekend is that our Disney World tickets came in. Yeah! I was fortunate to be walking around the yard on Friday morning, or I might not have found them. Did I mention that our dog likes to chew on anything? Well, our FedEx deliverer never seems to know how to ring a doorbell, much less knock on a door, because we were home when the package was delivered. Apparently, as long as FedEx sees a door, they leave it - even if it is the garage door... Well, the package was shredded, along with the cover letter, but the tickets were intact. Like Eli Manning said after the Superbowl "I'm going to Disney World!" That's all for now - I will try to update the blog more often and add new pictures.

It's About Time...

I know - I created this blog in September and I've finally gotten around to updating it! Let the truth be known, I had forgotten the e-mail address I used to create the account. I chalk it up to the fact that I have two beautiful girls who managed to swipe all of my gray matter before they came into this world.

We have a few upcoming events worth noting, one being that I'm having Lasik Surgery tomorrow morning. With all of the horror stories friends have decided to bestow upon me, I would like to preimtively state that if there are no more posts on this blog, that means the surgery was botched and I can no longer see... OK, so I'm not that worried about the procedure, but I am nervous.

A couple of weeks ago, Chuck came home with a mangled package from FedEx. Thanks to the delivery guy, he apparently handed the package to our dog who apparently did not consider that the package might not be for him! Well, there was enough there to read that I was a potential winner of tickets to Disney World! WooHoo!!! I filled out all of the paperwork and had it returned to the sweepstakes company within a week. Yes, I checked out the company and have verified they are valid. So, now we wait. I am still skeptical, but it's going to be so cool to celebrate our 10th Anniversary at Disney with the girls!!!
